  • Vienna State Opera House
  • Vienna’s spectacular Musikverein
  • Two Mozart Museums: Birth House and Wohnhaus

    • Our Beethoven Day is now longer and better. In addition to walking through his neighborhood and visiting the wonderful Beethoven Museum, we will have lunch at a traditional Viennese “Heuriger” where the composer lived when he was working on his Sixth Symphony. (A Heuriger is a restaurant in the Vienna Woods that has its own vineyard and makes its own wine.)
  • “The Sound of Music” Tour in Salzburg, and many sites where “The Sound of Music” was filmed
  • Vienna’s Collection of Historic Musical Instruments
  • Tours of each city led by local guide
Salzburg is one of the Europe’s most picturesque cities.

Performances

  • Two orchestral concerts in Vienna’s spectacular Musikverein
  • Lehar’s “The Merry Widow” in Vienna’s Volksoper
  • Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in the Salzburg Marionette Theater
  • An evening of Mozart opera arias during a lovely dinner/concert in Salzburg’s Peterskeller (the oldest restaurant in Europe)
  • A choral Mass in the Salzburg Cathedral
  • And the highlight will be Richard Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier” at the Vienna State Opera!
    • The Vienna State Opera required that we tell them how many tickets we need by January 17. Those registering before January 17 have tickets. If you register after January 17 and would like to see “Der Rosenkavalier,” let David Nelson know, and he will see if there are still tickets available.
