The following document outlines the policies that govern the trips offered by In Mozart’s Footsteps.  It tells you what you can expect from us, and what you agree to do in return. By registering for a trip, you agree to these policies.

Deposits, Payment Schedule, and Refunds
A $500 deposit is standard for all trips and is due once you receive the invoice after registration.

The specific date for the final payment, and the date in which refunds will no longer be given are found on the bottom of the web page for each trip.

Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing by sending an email using the contacts page or by sending a letter to In Mozart’s Footsteps at the address listed in the invoice. The cancellation must be received by the deadlines listed above.

Any and all refunds will be made by check and may take up to two weeks to process.

Payment Method
Payment for the tour can be made in two ways,

1.     You can send a personal check, bank draft, or money order to the address listed on the invoice.

2.     You can pay by PayPal. This can be a direct withdrawal from a bank account or this can be payment by credit card. PayPal is extremely safe and is used by thousands of people, including many on past In Mozart’s Footsteps tours. To pay by PayPal, contact us (Contact Us page or call 866-721-1756 toll free) and let us know that you wish to pay with PayPal, and we will send you an invoice with all the instructions.

Credit card payments can only be made through PayPal.

Returned Item Fees
If a payment is returned unpaid to In Mozart’s Footsteps for any reason, you will be assessed a $25 returned item fee per occurrence. The fee(s) will be added to your trip account and must be paid before the trip.

Prices
The specific list of what is included on each of the 2024 trips is included in the description for each trip.

Our tours do not include airfare and it is the participant’s responsibility to arrange transportation to the first city of the trip and from the last city. Dr. Nelson would be glad to make recommendations about airports, schedules, and flight itineraries.

Prices are subject to change without notice because of unexpected changes in the exchange rate and/or last-minute changes in other trip costs. That said, we at In Mozart’s Footsteps are extremely careful with our budgeting and believe that any price changes to the cost of the trip would be extremely rare.

Information about the Performances on the Itinerary
Tickets for many of the performances listed on each trip usually do not go on sale until a few month before the date of the concert or opera, and we cannot guarantee that we will attend these performances. That being said, In Mozart’s Footsteps has nearly always obtained tickets to the performances listed for each trip.

Should a venue give us a specific deadline at which time ticket sales are final, that date will be shown on a trip’s web page, and in newsletters. Contact us if you have any questions.

Tour Cancellation/Interruption Insurance
Trip cancellation or interruption insurance is not included in the price of your trip. Many travelers obtain this insurance, and it is recommended that travelers with In Mozart’s Footsteps strongly consider getting this insurance. Such insurance is available from many independent agencies at relatively low cost. The reason for trip cancellation/interruption insurance would be if you could not take the trip  because of last-minute illness, if your flights were cancelled or delayed, or for a variety of other reasons.

Baggage Handling
There will be some times during the trip when you will have to carry your bags yourself. Some of these times may be carrying bags through airports, moving bags to and from taxi cabs, moving bags to and from trains, taking your bags to and from hotel rooms.

Packing and Airline Luggage Regulations
Try to pack as lightly as you can. This will make it much easier to move through airports and between cities. Several years ago, Dr. Nelson had a traveler on a 20-day trip who brought all of her clothes in a carry-on bag, and she looked great every day!

Each traveler needs to carefully read the baggage allowances and any baggage fees from the web site of your airline.

Getting Around: Walking and Public Transportation
Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Leipzig, and Munich have wonderful public transportation systems, and we will take their subways, streetcars, and buses on most days in those cites. (A public transportation pass is included in the trip price.) Salzburg is much smaller than the other cities, and we will walk to all museums and activities.

People in Europe walk a lot, and our trips are no exception. We may spend several hours walking on a guided tour of a city or stand for a similar time in a museum. Dr. Nelson crafts each itinerary to try to avoid days with excessive walking or standing. Still, walking and standing are part of the trip.

Some travelers have created “low walking options” for themselves on past trips, and have taken taxis to museums or concert halls to avoid excessive walking. If you are interested in such an option, contact us and we will work with you to try to meet your needs.

Changes to the Hotels and Tour Itinerary
Dr. Nelson is committed to making the trip the best it can possibly be. Still, there may be last-minute changes to our daily itinerary. Sometimes opportunities come up such as a new museum exhibition or the possibility of getting into a rehearsal, and occasionally a concert may be cancelled or an exhibition may be cancelled. Dr. Nelson will print out daily itineraries and give them to all travelers. Uncompleted portions of the initial tour itinerary are not cause for refund. In Mozart’s Footsteps also reserves the right to change hotels as needed.

Participation and Behavior
We’ll have a great time on the trip, and it is assumed that everyone will behave with decorum. It would be rare that someone misbehaves or does things that are incompatible with the safety, comfort or convenience of other members of the tour. If such a thing should occur, In Mozart’s Footsteps will hold the exclusive right and discretion to expel someone from the trip at any time, without any claims or complaints by that person against In Mozart’s Footsteps.

Travelers with Disabilities
Any participant with a pre-existing physical, mental, or emotional disability that may require attention or treatment must notify In Mozart’s Footsteps in writing prior to the beginning of a tour.
